Sardine or also known as Tarli(in Maharashtra) is a small, oily sea fish which is one of the important commercial fishes in India found in the Indian oceans and is one of the most affordable fish. Sardine, the name is derived from Sardina, the italian island where once this fish was found in plenty. With its dense flesh and bold flavour it is a treasure house of nutritional wealth. It’s a versatile fish which can be used in a curry or can be stir or pan fried and also used in pickles as well.
