  • Known as the king of fishes, Seer fish or also known as Surmai is one type of mackerel and the most popular fish which can grow upto 45 kgs. With its firm and flaky meat and with one center bone it is favorite amongst the kids. It is apt for curries, can be Tawa/Pan fried, steamed and a great fish to make pickles as well.
    One of the unique cuts, Curry Cut includes the whole body of the fish including the head and the tail. As the name suggests, it is best suited for making Indian Curries but also used in Biryanis and Stews as it raises the flavor of the dish.   

Also known as fish cutlet, fish steak is a slice of the fish which is perpendicular to the spine and is achieved from the fleshy part of the fishes. This cut mostly includes the skins and bones of the fish and are typically around ½ to 1 inch thick.  Fish steak is an excellent cut for grilling, pan frying, baking and is perfect for making Indian curries.
